Royal Aged Thai
Notes: Berry, leather, amber
What a score! On our last acquisition trip, we uncovered a very exciting jewel from one of our distillers, and we’ve named it Royal Aged Thai. This new addition to our oud oil roster has been bottle-aged for over ten years, and is one of the finest oud oils we have ever seen. Hailing from Trat, Thailand, this syrupy, thick, oud oil has some of the closest notes we have found to match the much-depleted Cambodi oud oil market (Trat Province borders on Cambodia). Our Royal Aged Thai offers fruity top notes, a sweet dry-down, and leather notes throughout its arc. There is also an every so slight whiff of vanilla or amber, which hovers below the surface. Low animalic accord with this one, and its much closer to the Cambodi oud oils we were seeing over a decade ago, which we may never see again. Grab this soon to be historic oud oil before it’s gone!
Notes: Sandalwood, rose, oud, butter, black pepper
Due to how popular Oudimentary's blends have been over the last decade, our perfumers are happy to release a new proprietary Sandal Rose blend, as yet another mid-priced offering for our devoted customers. Our Sandal Rose has notes of sandalwood, rose, Cambodi oud oil, pepper, & butter.
Sandal Rose is also a nice starting point for those interested in experimenting with oud oils, as it offers simple oud notes for an affordable price.
Just the name conjures up images of dense jungles, rare woods, and uncharted lands. It also brings us to our latest of Cambodi oud Oils: Select Cambodi.
Oudimentary’s Select Cambodi offers our customers a similar scent profile to match our now famous Super Cambodi. It is a classic Cambodi with hints of sharp oud wood, musk, fresh tobacco, and pure bold intensity.
Only for the higher initiates oud wood, our Select Cambodi embodies both strength and a subtleness that is rare to find nowadays in oud oils. Of course, it is a classic oud Cambodi with all the woody strength known for oud oils from this region. But it also has another side—a growing sweetness. Like most good oud oils, it is a dimension that is revealed the longer it is worn. As it dries, you might find notes of berries, cork, and molasses. It carries a syrupy smokiness that is usually only found in burning oud woods.
Paired with one of our Select Cambodi oud wood, you will find a personal scent that embodies everything good and pure in this universe. We kid you not. Distilled from wild and farm-raised Aquilaria. New Summer 2019 micro-lot batch.
Myrrh is the aromatic oleoresin of a number of small, thorny tree species, which grow in dry, stony soil. An oleoresin is a natural blend of an essential oil and a resin, and if you are familiar with our medicinal grade frankincense, you already have become acquainted with oleoresins. Oleoresins essentially “bleed” from the tree, and often the trees are wounded to harvest the resin. The resin hardens quickly, and at that point is ready for use; be it for burning, extraction, or ingestion (for medicinal purposes).
Oudimentary’s Yemeni myrrh is a fine example of this famed scent from the ages of the spice trade route. Since biblical times the scents and spices from Arabia were the stuff of legend, and myrh holds a special place as one of the most coveted of all the imports from Arabia. Greek historian, Diodorus Siculus, once so eloquently stated, “All of Arabia exudes a most delicate fragrance; even the seamen passing by Arabia can smell the strong fragrance that gives health and vigor.”
Oudimentary’s Select Grade Myrrh is from the species Commiphora myrrha, and hails from Yemen. Our supplier flatly stated that it was some of the nicest myrrh he had ever seen, and we have no reason not to believe him. This batch has beautiful almost jewel-like dark brown pieces, and scent notes include spiced licorice, wood, earth, damp stone, with a slight underlying sweetness. Lovely, and nice to pair together with some of our frankincense.

Tarakan oils have less sweet notes than our Cambodi and Thai oils. Think along the lines of a morning walk through the rainforests of Borneo—as you walk, dew drips, birds call, and the shade of the jungle trees invites you. Continuing on, you smell a fresh, distinct sharpness, which slowly gives way to deeper jungle air, earth and organic life. As you become more aware of your surroundings, notes of pine and herbs begin to manifest. Long lasting, unique.
In this particular batch, sharp, brilliant top notes give way to a green, woody bouquet. Available in limited quantities!
Notes: Damp earth, fennel, spice
Hard, medium-sized pieces with a handsome amount of resin imbedded in each piece. The burn is long lasting, and starts with an undeniable scent, reminiscent of damp earth after a mid-afternoon tropical storm. This classic start gives way to a sweeter, headier note as resin appears and the smoke begins its smoldering dance.
