After a long hiatus, Oudimentary is happy to have a Malaysian oil back on its roster! We picked this one up on our last buying trip in South East Asia, and are happy to add it to our ever growing list of our oils.
Hailing from the border between Malaysia and Thailand, on the Northeastern most part of the Malaysian peninsula, our Malaysian Premier is a unique example of a Malaysian oil with sweet notes more common to Cambodian oils. Aged over a decade, wild harvested.
The initial hit is subdued spice with main notes of cinnamon and tamarind. The berry notes begin soon after, and continue, softening into a nice cherry tobacco and sweet wood dry down.

Kyoto Soul Duo
Kyoto Soul Oil
Notes: Oud, sandalwood, musk, clove, camphor
Our exclusive Kyoto Soul blend is inspired by Oudimentary's many acquisition trips to Japan. Japan's use of oud wood goes back centuries, and many of Japan's most famed incense uses oud wood as its base. We took that base note, and added other scents to the mix—all of which are found in traditional Japanese incense making— such as camphor, sandalwood, and patchouli. The end result is a heady, unique mix which has never been offered anywhere before.
The perfume blend starts out with a sharp edge, with notes of camphor, oud oil and then softens to a spicy-sweet mix with notes of muskand sandalwood. Its a unique blend for those with an interest in discovering the exciting scent profiles of Japanese incense.
Hand-crafted by "ScentSay" Usama Canon, this will take you on a journey. Get it while you can, supplies are limited! All oils come in a small Japanese style pouch (colors vary).

Notes: Grass, wood, damp stone, smoke, hot cocoa powder
If you haven’t used any East Indonesian oud woods before, you are in for a real treat. Imagine yourself outdoors and sitting around a campfire or walking through the forest just after its rained. The species is Gyrinops rather than the usual Aquilaria of mainland South East Asia. This Gyrinops is distinct and offers less spice and brings a grassy sweetness instead. Great choice for fumigation of clothes, especially paired with one of our Indonesian oud oils. An excellent oud wood at a great price.
This resin, known as al-Hojari, is one of the highest qualities available in this famed olibanum-producing country. It is from the mountainous Dhofar region, which is known for its high-scented olibanum because of its arid climate and inhospitable terrain. It is under these circumstances that the resin production is at its best.
Our al-Hojari frankincense has all of the classic balsam-citrus notes one would expect from olibanum of this quality, without any of the harsher tones which often come with inferior olibanum.

Select Grade Myrrh
Notes: Spiced Licorice, Wood, Earth, Damp Stone
Myrrh is the aromatic oleoresin of a number of small, thorny tree species, which grow in dry, stony soil. An oleoresin is a natural blend of an essential oil and a resin, and if you are familiar with our medicinal grade frankincense, you already have become acquainted with oleoresins. Oleoresins essentially “bleed” from the tree, and often the trees are wounded to harvest the resin. The resin hardens quickly, and at that point is ready for use; be it for burning, extraction, or ingestion (for medicinal purposes).
Oudimentary’s Yemeni myrrh is a fine example of this famed scent from the ages of the spice trade route. Since biblical times the scents and spices from Arabia were the stuff of legend, and myrh holds a special place as one of the most coveted of all the imports from Arabia. Greek historian, Diodorus Siculus, once so eloquently stated, “All of Arabia exudes a most delicate fragrance; even the seamen passing by Arabia can smell the strong fragrance that gives health and vigor.”
Oudimentary’s Select Grade Myrrh is from the species Commiphora myrrha, and hails from Yemen. Our supplier flatly stated that it was some of the nicest myrrh he had ever seen, and we have no reason not to believe him. This batch has beautiful almost jewel-like dark brown pieces, and scent notes include spiced licorice, wood, earth, damp stone, with a slight underlying sweetness. Lovely, and nice to pair together with some of our frankincense.
