Notes: Blackberry, pipe tobacco, teakwood, dried fruit
There are precious moments in the world of Oud oil that come once in a lifetime. This is one of those moments.
During a recent sourcing trip to Southeast Asia, we had the great fortune of acquiring this Aged Wild Cambodian Oud Oil.This jewel has been increasing in complexity, depth and funk year after year for two decades. Both the quality of oud wood from which this oud oil was extracted, and the fire based extraction are increasingly rare, creating a scent from yesteryear to dazzle your mind and awaken your soul. The blackberry and pipe tobacco top notes and a bright grassy middle note give way to a teak wood and dried fruit base. Don’t sleep on this rare find. We know you will love it as much as we do, and hope you will buy one to save for your progeny……
Oudimentary's Private Reserve Cambodi has become renown amongst connoisseurs worldwide for it's subtle notes that only age can bring. From wild, aged Aquilaria Malaccencis wood, this oud oil has been marinating for over 15 years. It's common for agarwood adepts to have several bottles stashed away for years (or decades) at a time, patiently waiting for the alchemical process to turn that simple oud oil into an immutable, inextinguishable, heavenly nectar. Oudimentary, took that journey for you, so you can time travel straight to the funk. With all the beauty you'd expect from a classic Cambodi oud oil plus base notes of forest floor, mahogany and dried berry. Top notes indicate dried apricot, pipe tobacco, black berries. It is pure bottled subtlety. Tenacious with medium sillage.
What a score! On our last acquisition trip, we uncovered a very exciting jewel from one of our distillers, and we’ve named it Royal Aged Thai. This new addition to our oud oil roster has been bottle-aged for over ten years, and is one of the finest oud oils we have ever seen. Hailing from Trat, Thailand, this syrupy, thick, oud oil has some of the closest notes we have found to match the much-depleted Cambodi oud oil market (Trat Province borders on Cambodia). Our Royal Aged Thai offers fruity top notes, a sweet dry-down, and leather notes throughout its arc. There is also an every so slight whiff of vanilla or amber, which hovers below the surface. Low animalic accord with this one, and its much closer to the Cambodi oud oils we were seeing over a decade ago, which we may never see again. Grab this soon to be historic oud oil before it’s gone!
