I bought this in 2018 and have about 1ml left. This is one of my favorites. Amber is a very common, and sometimes trying ingredient, out the. But the combination of amber with the Cambodi oudredefines what an amber is supposed to smell like. The earthy patch and precepital musk is transformation defined. Will soon be picking up another bottle. No barnyard note, except the musk gives it a quality that elevates the perfume to an uncommon sense. Enjoy with pure pleasure! Sure to win compliments.
This blend really works well for me and I am always getting compliments on the scent. Most importantly my girlfriend loves it!
Will I run out I will buy again great oud oil.
Amber and Oud is hands down my favorite blend from Oudimentary. It has the perfect blend of both, one not over powering the other. Warm amber, a hint of musk, and a pinch of patchouli is exactly what I needed to get grounded for the fall.
Out of my $150 purchase which was discounted by 30% this is the only thing I could honestly say I liked. I had been waiting to try these products for a few years. I absolutely love the smell of Oud. I was excited to finally make the purchase. Unfortunately the quality I would expect for such an expense was missing.

This cultivates a relaxing and calm environment, supports a positive mindset and creates a space for happiness and wellness for you.
Wild Rose Blend
I love this blend. I bought the Wild Rose Blend when it was first released not knowing much about it. I was confident that the blend would not disappoint as I have purchased many items from Oudimentary dating back to 2016. As expected the Wild Rose Blend exceeded my expectations and has been a pleasant addition to our household enjoyed by family and friends. I recommend you try this blend, you will not be disappointed.
Scent is delightful but not worth the extraordinary retail price.
This unique blend is perfect to set the vibe. It slowly sets into the room, changing as the various components burn and develop into a robust concoction that will have you sniffing the air to take in as much as you can. Was skeptical while burning initially but was blown away by the time it set into the room.
my fiance absolutely loves the rose scent! we burn it on my electric heater at 180 to enjoy the rose then crank it to 250 to fully enjoy the woods. would buy it by the barrel if I could.
East Indonesian
Regular price $10.00Notes: Grass, wood, damp stone, smoke, hot cocoa powder
If you haven’t used any East Indonesian oud woods before, you are in for a real treat. Imagine yourself outdoors and sitting around a campfire or walking through the forest just after its rained. The species is Gyrinops rather than the usual Aquilaria of mainland South East Asia. This Gyrinops is distinct and offers less spice and brings a grassy sweetness instead. Great choice for fumigation of clothes, especially paired with one of our Indonesian oud oils. An excellent oud wood at a great price.
Disappointed by the quality and how quick it burns off
Excellent Friend
No scent after burning. I am still open to trying some of the other products however
Disappointed as I wasnt aware the Oud was going to be ground so fine. I thought it was going to be Oud pieces.
Wicked chips - nevermind that they are gyrinops - at a price which let's you put them straight to the coal guilt free. Great for personal fumigation...and fumigating a room as they retain a nice clean scent profile even when burnt. Other chips reserved for Mon Koh sometimes can smell heavyily burnt and acrid but not these. On mica they smell grassy and earthy with cocoa powder nuances, they have a smooth and creamy scent like sandalwood. When fumigated they leave a rich and nutty scent, clean in profile, less like camp fire and more like and combo of smoked oud, coffee, and chocolate. Rich, deep and surprisingly light, they are so great for layering with oudimentary's oud oils.
Select Cambodi
Regular price $48.00Notes: Berry, cork, molasses, leather
Just the name conjures up images of dense jungles, rare woods, and uncharted lands.
Oudimentary’s Select Cambodi offers our customers a similar scent profile to match our now famous Super Cambodi. It is a classic Cambodi with hints of sharp oud wood, musk, fresh tobacco, and pure bold intensity.
Only for the higher initiates oud wood, our Select Cambodi embodies both strength and a subtleness that is rare to find nowadays in oud oils. Of course, it is a classic oud Cambodi with all the woody strength known for oud oils from this region. But it also has another side—a growing sweetness. Like most good oud oils, it is a dimension that is revealed the longer it is worn. As it dries, you might find notes of berries, cork, and molasses. It carries a syrupy smokiness that is usually only found in burning oud woods.
Paired with one of our Select Cambodi oud wood, you will find a personal scent that embodies everything good and pure in this universe. We kid you not. Distilled from wild and farm-raised Aquilaria. New Summer 2019 batch.
Love the oil and will continue to stock it in my inventory in the future God willing! Keep the good stuff coming!
MashaAllah. Classic Cambodi
I'm a person who loves and have more than twenty years experience using them. This one is one of their best and this is my third time ordering it. It lasts on human skin for twenty four hours and clothing for couple day.
Oudimentary sources quality oud oils, and Select Cambodia is no exception. I just don’t want others to know about it because I need it all for myself.
Subhanallah, reading the reviews makes it seem as though we are all describing different ouds! This Cambodi was different than what I had bought in Malaysia and continue to search for, which was much sweeter and smokier than this. On my skin, this has a very dark, woody smell. I, personally, would not use musk or tobacco in describing its profile, even after it has settled down- perhaps my sniffer is not refined enough... It also did not last as long as most ouds I have used in the past. It doesn't work for me, unfortunately, so I had to return it (and they were gracious enough to accept it)- despite the high cost of doing so. That being said, if you do prefer an antique wood smell, you may really enjoy it.
PS- my skin really changes the scent profile of any perfume I wear, so what I say may not be true for everyone.

Great sample pack, got to experience 6 different styles of oud at a reasonable price.
This was my first foray into burning raw oud, and I couldn't be more pleased. It's been quite the journey discovering the distinct fragrances of each type of wood included in the sampler. I'll definitely be purchasing more of my favorites (along with some oils) very soon!
I know Oud since childhood through my mother who regularly burn Oud in the living room and kitchen. A friend of my recommended me Oudimentary, and now I’m a fan Al hamdoelilah 🤲
First the picture is deceiving. It would imply there are several pieces per type. Some bags only had one piece. There was no instruction how to use. The bark scent was not pleasant
Thanks for your feedback Susan. We will be including 'how to' cards in future orders for new customers. There is also a how to burn section and video on our site that gives you a step by step. The wood is weighed to 1 gram and the size and pieces are relative to the size and depth of wood.Lastly we are sorry to hear you are disappointed. Please let us know if we can help. - Oudimentary Team
I've never burned raw oud before so the sampler was absolutely perfect for me. It's been so interesting and unexpected to see the types I liked best. The variety and quality was incredible. So happy with Oudimentary, already placed a second order.
Oud Blend
Regular price $29.00Notes: Leather, dried fruit, firewood, tamarind, bittersweet chocolate
Oudimentary presents our proprietary, introductory oud oil blend. An oud experience for every day casual wear. Includes oud from Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand (Aged 10 years) blended to create the perfect winter scent.
Ingredients: Organic fractionated coconut oil (60%), oud (40%)
A wonderdul light Oud blend. Great place for Oud, very very satisfied with their Oud blend. Great for all day every day wear.
- It's... Warm... it's got... Berries... Like a Strawberry Blueberry hybrid, but... not freshly cut ones. It's almost exactly like... A warm "Mixed Berry"Poptart, straight outta the toaster, that you spit open with your hands, and smell the warm strawberry filling.
- Next, there is also something like... Warm Graham Crackers, or Pie Crust. Both, really...
- There is also a distinct hint of... Olives... (Not black though, but the Green or Brown ones, they often have in fancy salad bars, or in jars.) Salty, Pungent.
- I also get a note of... the smell of the "sticky side" of Duct Tape - as odd as that sounds...
- Also, something else, but... it isn't strictly a, "Smell" per se, but, more of a sensation, or a vision that occurs. It's something like... "Effervescence"... like... something foamy or bubbling. Like... the tickling prickling noise, as well as sensation, of millions of tiny bubbles rising up and popping, like sticking your nose down in a wine glass with some fruity bubbly champagne, and it tickles your nose, as well as your brain.
- There's also a thick, sweet, saccharine smell, slightly, "Winey" or "Boozy" that you often get with Benzoin extracts
- Also... Wet grey stone, like a pile of clean gravel, that's been rained on.
- A light, or, "watered down" Patchouli... (But it's very faint, and it seems to only show up during the drydown.)
- The "colors" of the smell, strike me as: Pink, Purple, Brown, and Blue.
- A bit of Chocolate, but... Like the smell of the foil wrapper around chocolate, after it has melted in your pocket, and stuck to it - then it dries out, and you smell the wrapper later. Like that.
This would be excellent in a Gourmand. Definitely like... "The warm smell of pastries, berry pies and olives in the air". Definitely full of good sweet kitchen smells.
- And lastly... as it dries down... Faint hints of... pipe tobacco? and... well...
There's also this other... rather odd component... (to some people anyway)
- Imagine that, AFTER you've brushed your teeth, and have a clean mouth, you licked the back of your arm. Then, several minutes later, after it has dried, you smell it. If your mouth is clean and healthy, I wouldn't say it necessarily smells, "Bad" just very... "Human". A damp sticky breathy quality. And depending on your preferences, some people don't mind that in a fragrance... *shrugs*
Anyway, that's all I have to say about the Fragrance as it stands now, however...
Oud is always incredibly fascinating in perfumery, because... It never quite seems to do exactly what you think it will, or what you expect it to... What I mean is, it can be very, "Chameleon-Like" when added to other oils to create a blend.
For example, if you added Lavender to something, you could safely expect it to make your scent, well, more Lavender-y. But Oud? No. Not so easy to anticipate. It has too much nuance. Too much complexity on it's own to really nail it down completely.
However, this is why Oud is so much fun to own and play around with! And I think if you haven't used it before, that this small vial of Oud Blend would be perfect for some initial experimentation, and at a low cost, so you won't be deterred by a larger price tag!
Try it out! I doubt you'll be disappointed!
Smells nice. Peaceful vibes. Reminiscent of frankincense. I heard Brother Ali talking about it on his podcast
this is the oil that introduced me to and helped me become obsessed with oud oil. for the price you absolutely can't beat it!
Select Cambodi
Regular price $36.50Notes: Leather, chicory, cherry tobacco
Our customer favorite! Thin, lightly-colored pieces, are packed with the Cambodian sweetness so popular in the oud world. With notes of leather, chicory, and cherry tobacco, this oud wood is superior for scenting clothes—and rooms—and pairs beautifully with one of our Cambodi or Thai oud oils. Sourced directly from the mountainous border region between Cambodia and Thailand.
Loved the oud and the myrrh. My wife didnt like Frankincense.
I have a sub and two wood chip heaters, one by Shoyeido, and I couldn't get them to heat the resin out of the wood. I wrote oudimentary and they said to use coal. I have coal, but don't like to use it.
The wait was well worth it! This is by far an amazing wood to burn anytime. The subtle sweet and earthy tones really lighten a space and bring joy as well as smoothness to my day when burning.
Select Cambodi
First Oud burnable and I must say that I choose wisely. The importance of type of charcoal used cannot be understated. Stay away from the common type you may find readily available. I also use a mica plate with great results after a friend's recommendation. Hints of pepper, leather, and tobacco linger well after the burn has completed.
